I offer language arts classes to the homeschool community and am passionate about teaching in a way that makes writing approachable and enjoyable. Not only do I recognize the common fears and challenges young writers face, but I also foster connection and trust in the classroom by addressing these feelings from the start. Quality writing instruction requires modeling, practice, and feedback. My approach emphasizes breaking down the writing process and providing ample opportunities for revision and improvement. I strive for intimate classes that are custom-designed to be fun and engaging. Too often, homeschool students write in isolation. My classes give students the opportunity to play writing games and, more importantly, the chance to share and learn from each other's writing. Every student, regardless of their level, discovers their unique voice and potential with the right guidance. The truth is, that students already have ideas and opinions of their own to share; my classes simply help them discover the inner writer that was already there. Nothing brings me greater joy than connecting with my students and witnessing their growth, in skills and confidence! When a student announces that writing is now their favorite class, well that's just the icing on the cake!

I cannot say enough good things about Leilani’s writing class. My son went in not enjoying writing at all, but Leilani made the class super enjoyable. By the end of the course, he had a newfound love for writing. He is now quite proud of his work and is looking forward to continuing with her next year. She always gives her students positive feedback and allows them to grow at their own pace. She’s a remarkable teacher, and I highly recommend her. -Laura B.
